Specialised Therapy

Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling and psychotherapy are professional therapeutic practices that aim to help people cope with emotional, psychological, and interpersonal challenges in their lives. These services are provided by trained and qualified mental health professionals who create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Counselling and psychotherapy can be helpful for a wide range of reasons, such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, self-esteem problems, and more.

How Is Deep Seas Different?

We use a holistic approach within the counselling space. This means we take into account the whole person's well-being, including physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. For neurodivergent individuals or those at risk, these approaches recognize the interconnectedness of various aspects of one's life and how these factors can impact one's overall health and well-being.

Forms Of Counselling We Offer

We understand that everyone's situation, needs and values are different and with that, comes the need for different approaches to create the best form of therapeutic support for each person accessing Deep Seas.

Deep Seas acknowledges the traditional owners of this land we live and work on; the Kaurna people, a land whose sovereignty remains un-ceded.

We acknowledge and value their diversity, histories, knowledge, Dreaming and continuing connections to land and country.

We pay our respects to all First Nations people and their cultures; and to the Elders of past, present and emerging.

This land was and will always BE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.

We pay our respects to those amongst the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex communities who have worked to support the improved health and well-being of their peers, children, families, friends, and country.

We honour the Elders in the diverse communities of which we are a part and we celebrate the extraordinary diversity of people’s bodies, genders, sexualities, and relationships that they represent.

We recognize the uniqueness and wholeness of each person and support movements that empower and center communities and identities that are marginalized.
