Our Approach
Social Model of Health
The Social Model of Health outlines 12 areas of a person’s life that need to be working well for them to be happy, healthy, and live a life of meaning. It maintains a strengths-based, person-centred, and recovery-oriented approach.

Deep Seas draws influence from this model to provide a structure that informs our work, underpins future service delivery, and places the unique needs of our clients at the core of our work.

Those 12 areas are:
Income and social protection
Education
Unemployment and job insecurity
Working life conditions
Food insecurity
Housing, basic amenities and the environment
Early childhood development
Social inclusion and non-discrimination
Structural conflict
Access to affordable health services of decent quality.
