Our Team

Meet El

El is our Founder, Head Counsellor and Geek Therapist at Deep Seas.

Deep Seas was created through El's dream of a therapeutic service that does not shut anyone out. They are a registered Counsellor with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) and has been working in the child welfare sector for the last 10 years.

As an AuDHD person themselves, El works with their clients to explore different forms of expression to identify which ones feel most comfortable and effective for the individual. El believes that creative expression can promote emotional healing and personal growth. By engaging in the creative process, clients can gain insight into their emotions and thoughts, gaining a deeper self-awareness.

El enjoys reading DC, Marvel and Image comics, catching Pokemon, watching horror movies or Bob's Burgers. When they are not at Deep Seas throughout the week, they are spending their weekends playing lacrosse, hanging out with Winnie, or creating some abstract/multimedium art.

Deep Seas acknowledges the traditional owners of this land we live and work on; the Kaurna people, a land whose sovereignty remains un-ceded.

We acknowledge and value their diversity, histories, knowledge, Dreaming and continuing connections to land and country.

We pay our respects to all First Nations people and their cultures; and to the Elders of past, present and emerging.

This land was and will always BE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.

We pay our respects to those amongst the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex communities who have worked to support the improved health and well-being of their peers, children, families, friends, and country.

We honour the Elders in the diverse communities of which we are a part and we celebrate the extraordinary diversity of people’s bodies, genders, sexualities, and relationships that they represent.

We recognize the uniqueness and wholeness of each person and support movements that empower and center communities and identities that are marginalized.
